I have done many things over the years I am proud of, but my two adult children remain my greatest accomplishment. What more can I say? God has blessed me immeasurably. Was it easy raising a daughter and a son? Did I transition through this period of life without the usual scrapes and bruises? Of course not. Would I do it again? Absolutely! My husband and I have six grandchildren now, and although they live far away, we are proud of our little brood. So enjoy your day, Moms, young and old! The rewards in the end are far greater than any sorrow or tribulation. As an ancient philosopher once said:
"Children are the anchors that hold a mother to life." (Sophocles)
