It's been quite a month. I'm celebrating only two more days left to the A-Z April Challenge. I don't know what hit me. I do this every year, but 2017 will probably be my last time.
Mid-April, I had oral surgery on bone in my upper palate. Yeah, I know. That sounds pretty yucky and it could have been more painful than it was. But prayer and two pain pills later I was on the road to recovery. All stitches have since dissolved.
But the best thing about April 2017 will forever be the email I received from a publisher offering to publish my novel!!!! Assuming all goes as planned, you'll see me doing cartwheels all over the internet when The Shells of Mersing (working title) goes live sometime in July.
I wanted my Celebrate friends to be
the first to "officially" know online.

May I be the first to yell Yippee! A heartfelt congratulations to you for getting your book published. You should be so very proud of all you have accomplished. I am sorry you had to go through that pain and what sounds truly yucky. I am also sad to hear about your last time doing the A to Z....but never say never :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Birgit. We have blogged together for some time now and such fun info on film at your blog! Your support means a lot :)
DeleteYou certainly are remarkable coming up with all those brave wonderful ladies.
ReplyDeleteI too congratulate you on your A to Z achievement.
Yvonne.
Yvonne, thank you! Your poetry and choice of music in the a-z have been wonderful.
DeleteCongratulations! That's wonderful news. Is it your first sale?
ReplyDeleteI've done the A to Z twice, though last year it was unofficial, I just did it. And it has been fun, I've written something every day, I've learned things and I've met a few interesting people whose blogs I will now follow and some are now following me, but... A lot of work and I'm not sure I'll be doing it next year.
Thanks, Sue, this is my first fiction sale! I've been trying for years too.
DeleteFor the a-z to work you really need to do in advance.
That's excellent news about your novel: congratulations. Something good to focus on after the pain of your horrid surgery.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Was a big baby about surgery. I hate people digging in my mouth but it went so much better than expected.
DeleteOMG!! Congratulations!! My blog would be a fine place to feature your release, so let me know when the official release date gets chosen & I'll schedule you in. I'm so happy for you!!
ReplyDeleteLexa I appreciate that so much. You've been so supportive. Thank you!!
DeleteThat's fantastic! Congratulations. Love your topic & I've gotten a lot of education from it. I will be watching! I've found the A to Z Challenge to be very thought provoking. A great way to generate new ideas & get them out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I loved doing these topics and reading everyone else's. And you are right. They generate ideas....and also good conversation. They are great writing and research exercises too. A win- win in so many ways.
DeleteHi Sharon - that's amazing --- congratulations on getting that publication offer for July - brilliant news. Take care of the face and palate ... and definitely see you around ... cheers Hilary

DeleteOh wow, how exciting, congratulations on the publishing deal! Glad to hear you are recovered from your dental surgery. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suzanne!!
DeleteCongratulations!!! Hope your going to give yourself a big treat for that. Glad to hear that you're back on the road to recovery (dental matters are horrible.)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Hubby and I went out for dinner to celebrate. That's about the limit of our social life. LOL.
DeleteCongratulations on the book!!! As for the A to Z...I'm kind of feeling like this may be my last year too. It's a ton of work! Thanks for the blog visit yesterday!

Thank you!!
DeleteThe a-z is a huge commitment and hard to keep up. If I could do months in advance I might consider it again. I missed visiting a lot of great blogs, yours for instance.
Fantastic news about the publishing offer! Huge congratulations. And on making a speedy recovery from your surgery. I didn't do the A-Z this year because I really struggled to get through last year. Maybe next time around...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate! I have mixed feelings about quitting the a-z. We all seem to agree it's exhausting but as an opportunity to write and research, you can't beat it.
DeleteWonderful news Sharon. Congrats. I've also enjoyed the A to Z. I like the changes re Facebook posting etc which have been an improvement I think. Interesting to note the much lower number of participants this year. Anyway, really happy for you about your novel being published. I know the feeling and it is a great one. I wish you great success with it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate your support! I didn't use Facebook since I use a different name. I posted at the a-z website and also noticed numbers were way down. Should be interestinag the final analysis.
DeleteSharon, congrats on the wonderful news of your upcoming book release! This is excellent news to celebrate!! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Congratulations. That is wonderful news. The A to Z Challenge is exhausting. I did not participate this year. Your theme looks terrific. I'll go back and read about the women scientists on your blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Can't see myself doing the a-z again, but never say never. You learn so much in the process and that's addictive to say the least.
