View across our river/lake - Priest Rapids Recreation area |
One of the roads I drive. |
Golf course clubhouse in distance. Yep, that's sage brush in front. |
There are hiking trails in the Umtanums, but hikers should know there are rattlesnakes during the summer. I think I'll pass on hiking the Umtanums and just enjoy the beauty they offer from my window.
Happy Weekend Everyone!!

The snow-covered peaks are so pretty! Those pictures almost look like paintings. :)
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed the view. Except for sunsets and sunrises, these mountains are rock brown most of the year and not nearly as impressive. Thanks!
DeleteBrrrr! It's sure been January weather here and where you live. Oh, well. Guess I can't expect much else, given that it IS January.
ReplyDeleteIt has been colder than usual, although not bad today. Guess we were all due, and we need the moisture!
DeleteThe scenery is breath taking. It almost looks like a painted backdrop.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Makes me wish I could draw or paint. I hope somebody does. Nature is really showing off here :)
DeleteHow amazing that they're partially covered with snow and what's there makes such interesting designs. Thanks for sharing the great pics! Have a wonderful weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I took some pics before the snow melts. We may not see snow again. Thanks Lexa.
DeleteYou have a stunning view! Wow! I love these pictures and I am jealous of what you see out your window. :)

I'm still getting used the desert here but these mountains have been amazing. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteWow - those mountains of yours almost look unreal - how amazing that this is what you can see from your house! Lovely to see them on the Celebrate blog hop - Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly new here, so they are pretty amazing to me too. Thanks so much for visiting.
ReplyDeleteI also thought they looked like a painting - especially the first two! Gorgeous photos Sharon! Yep, the rattlers would bother me -
ReplyDeletePeople call them the mountains here. At first, I thought of the Umtanums as brown hills, which in the summer they are, and next to Mount Rainier (just beyond) they are! But here being so close, the effect is overwhelming. Thanks Susan!
DeleteAwesome photo's and a wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Thank you. Happy New Year, Yvonne!
DeleteAmazing photos of our "Umtanum Mountains". . They look lovely with our fresh snow fall! Great photos!
DeleteThanks Linda. We really are blessed with the views!
DeleteWow, such gorgeous pictures! I can only imagine how much prettier that view is in person...
ReplyDeleteThank you. Last winter we had no snow at all and very little rain. The moisture is long overdue! So far, the mountains are most attractive with snow. They are quite plain otherwise, except for certain times of the day...like sunsets and sunrises.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful pictures. I didn't think you could get over there because of the army reservation.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's true for us in Desert Aire. I have no idea where the hiking trails are but online I saw a trail map. Thanks!
